As part of the “Traces of Oblivion” project, students at IGS Lüneburg decorated an old cannon on the Kalkberg with colorful LEGO bricks. The cannon was not used to defend the city in the past, but was fired only when convicts escaped from the neighboring prison. With their artistic intervention, the students drew attention to this little-known historical artifact and encouraged people to reflect on exclusion, punishment, and violence in the past.
