Fubon Art Foundation
Established in 1997 with the support of the Fubon Group, Fubon Art Foundation is dedicated to making
art more accessible to the public. Simple yet determined, the mission statement of the Foundation is “art is
a commitment to life,” with the belief that art originates in life and it should also ultimately return to life. It has
been in pursuit of this passion through art exhibitions, lectures, publications, as well as art & design
merchandise.
For exhibitions, the “Very Fun Park” project actively promotes a “museum without walls” approach to art.
While the exhibitions spread out into different corners of Taipei’s East District, such as shops and other public
spaces, the project has invited artists, local and international alike, to this lively and stylish neighborhood.
Every year, nearly 50 works are introduced in a wide range of forms, styles and media. The project has
welcomed over a million visitors since 2007, ensuring that “Very Fun Park” is now a byword for the city’s East
District.
The hard work of Fubon Art Foundation over the past 16 years was recognized by Taipei City Government in 2011 when it received the 15th Taipei Culture Award for “outstanding contributions to the long-term nurturing of culture, promotion of cultural diversity, focus on Taiwanese identity and promotion of Taipei on the international stage.”
